Benign

Definition:

Not cancerous. Not malignant. Benign tumours are not able to spread to tissues around them nor to other parts of the body.

Usually a mild disease or condition that is not life threatening. They tend not to reoccur once surgically removed. They can reach large sizes and can become a problem if they exert pressure on organs. Benign tumours occurring in the brain can be fatal.
