Definition:
A physical phenomenon based upon the magnetic property of the nuclei of
certain atoms.
The term is often used to describe a series of techniques that make use of
this phenomenon to determine the structure of molecules, by placing them in a
strong magnetic field.
Applications in medical imaging include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and
Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS).
