The material content of the texts on Level 3 is directly sourced from
"Forests and Energy, Key Issues" , a report of the FAO produced in 2008. The paper draws upon two comprehensive studies commissioned by FAO in 2007: Forests and energy in developing countries (Ivan Tomaselli, Brazil) and Forests and energy in OECD countries (Warren Mabee and Jack Saddler, Canada).

The Levels 1 & 2 were written by the GreenFacts Editorial Team in collaboration with Dr Ann Griswold, PhD.

3. Digest Publication History

The GreenFacts publication process is designed to ensure as high a degree of objectivity as possible.

First draft

The first draft of this Digest was produced by Ann Griswold, PhD on 29 December 2008 on the basis of a canvas prepared by the GreenFacts Editorial Team.

Second draft

The second draft of this Digest was produced on 22 January 2009 by the GreenFacts Editorial Team.

Preliminary and Peer review

The final draft of this Digest was produced in on 13 February 2009 by GreenFacts after peer review by 4 independent scientists selected by the GreenFacts Scientific Board (see our  peer review form).

These reviewers were:

  • Dr Josep Canadell, Earth System Science Partnership (ESSP), Australia
  • Dr Rose Simmone, Forest Products and Industries Division, FAO, Italy
  • Dr Miguel Trossero, Forest Products and Industries Division, FAO, Italy

Final corrections were added under the supervision of the GreenFacts Scientific Board in early March 2009.
