Protein

A large molecule composed of one or more chains of amino acids in a specific order, formed according to genetic information.

Each protein has a unique structure and plays a specific role in the function, structure, or regulation of cells, tissues and organs. Examples are enzymes, antibodies, collagen and some hormones.
